Xbox Mod - Ban from live??

Hi All,
A mate is getting his xbox modded today to play backups. I said he wont be able to go on live with it. Apprantly alot of people now seem to be using live fine with a modded xbox. I have looked on the net to see if there is any new firmware that can go undetected but all i can find is posts from 2007 which surely MS have now resolved.
So my question is it still a risk to use xbox live with a flashed xbox?
If there is firmware that can go undetected will someone be kin enough to point me in the right direction.

Err...yeah thats why i said in my thread that ive looked on the net but only found posts regarding firmware that were wrote in 2007.
I will try searching this forum seen as it seems quite hard for people on this forum to post links to apprantly a well disscussed topics to new users.

So does link posting aswell for people new to a forum. Especially when the forum is generally about helping people.

Actually i do mostly prefer to help people as opposed to ask them to search, however threads on bannings are so prevalent that it's not worth my time to paste links, suffice it to say that a simple browse thru the first few pages of the forum will turn up lots of hits..
edit- i very rarely quote it but this is actually our very first Forum Rule ~ Quote:
1. Before starting a new thread, use SEARCH first (located on top of the page..) to see if your question has been answered before!
That and the other Forum Rules are in my signature, please read them..

joneze, all we are doing encouraging you to do is look for the answer yourself. That way, next time you have a question, you might actually search before hand.
