Hello all,

An xbox i have the optical drive has given up the ghost a Lite-on dg-16d2s, i mentioned this to a person in a bar (for arguement sake lets call him a d*ck) i mentioned my issue and he said oh not a problem give me your xbox ill repair and put a new drive in. so i gave it to him 2 months later i got it back in bit with him saying "oh all you need to do is replace the drive heres the new one... a BenQ vad6038 but i know a very little and i know its not that simple of plugging one in and hey presto other wise heŽd of done it...

can anybody give me some advice on what i need to do?

Any advice whould be greatful... i already want to give the guy a slap for wasting my time and money so that bits sorted.

Consoles and DVD drives are "married" to one another. They share the same key (number). Theconsole and the Lite-On have the same key, which means you have to use JungleFlasher (or some other flashieng program), to read the DVD key from the Lite-On. Then spoof (flash) that key into an iXtreme firmware (preferably iXtreme LT), and flash that firmware to the BenQ.
