Xclamp fix and have RROD again.

I did the Xclamp fix about over a year ago and it has worked fine until now. I got the RROD again. I did the baking trick where you disconnect the fan for 3 minutes and turn on the console. This fixed the RROD for about 30 minutes. I turned the unit off, and now I have the RROD again.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it again?

You could try making the screws tighter first, if it still won't work if there's 8 washers under the heatsink remove 4 for extra pressure.

I have an xbox that had rrod and the baking trick worked but it froze and gave rrod again and tightening gave a different error then loosening a certain amout gave the old error then tightening again made it work but it's probably only temporary.

I think you are very lucky to have gotten a year extra out of your xbox after doing the xclamp trick, I would suggest try and find someone in your area who can do a solder reflow for you as your mobo is probably in a really bad state. If that's not possible try out the team hybrid xclamp fix, its a bit harder but you might be able to get another year out of your box.

1)Microsoft - they give a 3 year warranty now!

2)Look for the revised "official" heatsink, this moves the heat away from under the DVD via a pipe heatsink.

MOST important - remove the heatsink compound and replace it, the one microsoft used will have dried out
