Xclamp Fix Before RRod

Im thinking about doing the xclamp fix on my 360. I have never gotten the rrod i just want to prevent it. It was manufactured 6-6-08 with a hitachi 47 and does not have an hdmi connection.

2 questions. Should i go ahead and do it?
and if i do will i still need to do the step where i overheat the gpu afterwards?

Don't bother, you are still under M$'s 3 year warranty and will be until 6/6/11. If it RROD's, send it to M$ for a free repair.

Thanks for the quick reply. The thing is i already bought the 360 used. But not only that i also already flashed the drive and broke the warranty sticker in the process. Would they still replace it?

AFAIK, As long as there hasnt been obvious damage to the case when its been opened you should be OK. You will however need to buy a warranty sticker, which you can get from ebay.

Even if you cant send it in to M$, would say to NOT remove the xclamps unless it breaks. I have a XBOX manufactured in 2005 and its still runnning.

If it RROD's, then xclamp ;)

Ok thanks im going to go ahead and paint the case but i wont do the xclamp fix till it red rings (hopefully that wont happen)
