yes im a newbie.my question is this.if i have my drive flashed with the ltxtreme 1.7-can i still install xexmenu iso thats on the dvd to the harddrive on my xbox360.im wanting to play backups i have on my external hardrive.with out j-tagging the console.i know i cant never use it on live but will this work.also will xexmenu work that way and see the games on the external drive.

To all your questions, no. Unless you JTAG the console, you will not be able to read unsigned .xex.

Sorry but the answer is no, need a JTAG. As mentioned by xerodaze you need to be able to run unsigned code to use XeXmenu, that is what the JTAG hack does.
