XP drivers fully updated required before flashing?

I just installed a clean copy of XP 32 bit to flash which I'm going to do in next hour... was wondering is it necessary for me to update all XP drivers or not? I don't know if I have like sata drivers or if they exist etc...

i just let xp disc install my sata intel ich7 82801fb utlra ata 2651)
and that works on the drives
