So im using a BenQ monitor that has not got built in speakers. I would like to connect my ps3 to my monitor. First i just connect them via HDMI cable for video. Then comes the hard part. I want to use my headphones for gaming, so would it work if i bought one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Phono-Female-3-5...86907717&sr=1-1 and stick the 3,5 mm audio jack into this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Earphone-Coupler.../ref=pd_cp_ce_3 ?

Are you sure now? Where is the best place to buy that adapter? Has Ebay got international shipping?

About ebay and international sellers you have to check it with the sellers. I ordered mine from ebay as well. The seller was from USA and I live in Europe. So the answer is : yes , most sellers ship internationally but you have to check it.

This logitech adapter supports up to 5.1

If you use 5.1 you will need all the three exits (jacks)

I use only the 2 exits coz I have 2 speakers and a woofer (2.1 sound)

If u have only 2 speakers u will use one exit (2.0 sound)

I assume u will need one exit for the headphones as well, as a pair of headphones is exactly the same as a pair of speakers (2.0 sound)

I think this adapter will do for you... But do not blame me if not :-) cheers...

... and something else

In ps3 settings you have to choose that the exit for the video will be HDMI while sound exit will be the AV cable... it is very easy but when I set it up for the first time I had no sound because the default setting is HDMI for both video and sound.

For me this setup works perfectly.
