I have been trying to backup a movie on my computer so that I can watch it on my PS3 without having to waste my storage space on my PS3. Unfortunately I have been having a major issue getting anything to work. I am using windows media player 11 and the media server on the PS3. It is active and working as I can access my music via this method. I have the movie in avi, iso, and whatever convertx2dvd spits out. I would like to know which is the best format to use. BTW none of these will show up in the WMP right now. I would really appreciate any help.

Use ps3mediaserver, it will convert pretty much anything on the fly so you don't have to worry about formats unless you run into a real oddball.

Well MKV files will stutter on a less powerful PC and network. 720p streams well with a good pentium 4, but you should stick with a wired network. AVI is the best. Quick download, and easy to watch. I do like PS3 Media Server.
