Not getting any help from any other forum, but this forum has been real helpful in the past.

Anyways, I took apart my ps3 to clean the blu ray lens. I forgot to take a disc out of it , so I just did it manually not knowing the consequences.. I took it out, put it back together and it wouldn't let me insert any discs at all. There was a white tab blocking the disc from getting in the drive. So I took it apart again and put the disc back in manually and the ps3 wouldn't read it or let me eject it. There was no blue light flashing indicating the disc being in there. When I turned it on it made a grinding noise and the motor would spin. I took it apart again and fiddled with the gears a little so the white tab went down. Now It seemed that I could insert a disc the automated way by motor.

So I turn on the ps3 and try to insert a disc..... Yeah just my luck , no blue light and the motor won't start to suck the disc in. I tried to make sure I put everything back together correctly too.. I'm usually good with this kinda stuff but this really baffles me. I'm proud to say that I've modded many many xbox's and psp's (etc) without flaw. Fixed many problems. But the ps3 is the first console to give me any trouble at all.. Seriously anyone encounter something like this? I've been at work with this thing for about 12 hours already and can't get it to run properly!.. I can't afford any repairs or anything and warranty's up.

Just some extra stuff.. The ps3 runs fine still. I just can't play my regular ps3 games or demos for that matter.. I've had it for about 15 months or so and hasn't given me any problems till now. It's the old phat version and is refurbished from gamestop. It's an 80 gb model. Hope that's enough info. Oh and I noticed a small spring laying around on the floor I was working on. Im not sure if its from the ps3 because I had alot of junk lying around there (like xbox's and dvd drives and stuff). It also doesn't turn on when I try and insert a disc , so I'm guessing the sensor is having problems too..

All I want to do right now is play some battlefield.. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.
