i know ps2 backward comp has been removed from slim, but just wondering if jailbroke ps3 slim has the ability to inject the code/emulation profile from the fat ps3 and play ps2 games?
We will probably see it in CFWs soon; there is already work on a port of the PC PS2 emmu...although it should be stated that this emulator does not work very well on the PC, so it is doubtful that it will work very well on the PS3.

no, i mean if you can copy the emulation software files from the fat to slim, by implementing it in the CFW. not a whole new emulator that is being developed/ported.
There is no such thing as a PS3 with full software emulation for the PS2...there are hardware units and semi-hardware units; but most fat units don't even have the little bit of hardware needed for Sony's ps2 emulation.

In time I imagine there will be CFW or applications that allow emulation of PSX, as well as, PS2.

The thing is, even the "software" emulation of the 40 & 80 GB models was dependent a graphics synthesizer that was removed in subsequent hardware revisions.
While they were able to patent emulation of the graphics synthesizer last year, its implementation is still problematic.
