cod4 black screen when playing online

sometimes when i play cod4 on my ps3 online after the match is over (before it goes back to the menu screen for the online gaming) the screen goes black. Sometimes this only happens for a moment then it loads up normally. There are sometimes however that the black screen comes up and it stays there. It will not load the online menu screen so i can get back into the match that starts up again after the intermission time has expired. If i press the PS button in the middle of the controller the ps3 menu does come up. In order to start the game again i have to quit the game from the ps3 menu. The ps3 then restarts and i have to go back in and start the game all over again. This black screen appears after the list is shown of the number of kills,deaths, etc. that everyone has. This problem seems to be occurring more frequently now than ever before. My ps3 is is the 120 GB version (why sony discontinued all the excellent features of the previous models is beyond me but that is for another time and thread). It is also connected to the internet through a wireless modem. Does anyone know what the problem is. Is there something wrong with the ps3 or is this normal. Any advice would be great and it would be appreciated if anyone else has this problem to say something so i know its not just me. Or let me know if everything works fine.
Oh yeah, my afterdawn user name is the same as my cod4 user name. Anyone who has played against me or with me already know that I SUCK!!! Don't know why I want to play the game.
