^^Bump^^ to see who may be interested in me MAYBE setting up shop and offering a similar custom setup for sale here on aD (US only for now).

I still have to do some number crunching for a close ball park price on what I would charge as it would be a 100% custom build from scratch but of the top of my head it would definitely be at least $150 for the wireless (could probably be a bit more and that would also depend on what parts I use like Sanwa, Seimitsu or HAPP etc.) but less for the wired one. I would also have to charge for shipping separately as well but this is all just to see what kind of interest in orders that people may have here...

Looks like a nice build...just a few thoughts...

1.) Wouldn't it be more PS3-style if you scrapped the USB cord and cord management, and simply put a mini-usb plug on it...like all other PS3 accessories have?

2.) Could you somehow attach dualshock motors to the stick?

3.) Are those buttons digital or analogue? Same question for the stick.

4.) Could you attach some kind of solenoid or something to the pinball flippers, so that when you hit them, you get that positive feedback like you get from a real pinball machine?

TY Killerbug I can easily give you some answers about that ~

Actually it does use a USB Mini B cord already. The Mini B connector plugs into the SixAxiS inside the box then comes out from it's wire management wrap to make an easy connection to the PS3 since the end to sync and charge is a standard USB male A! Simply unwrap and plug right into the front of your PS3, PC or even a USB wall charger. then when you are done wrap it up to put it away for a clean look. You can actually see it in this pic just to the left of the SixAxiS module ~

I could actually use a Dual Shock 3 SixAxis controller if necessary but I would have to search for a specific version as there are 2 different DS3 models. One that uses the same flat ribbon cable thus making it compatible and the other that does not utilize the same cable which makes it harder to find/buy the one I would actually need. That is probably the main reason why I went with a SixAxiS (for ease of finding/purchasing/use). Plus it lasts longer on a charge since there is no additional moving parts! And I am not sure it would transfer the rumble that good. But I kind of address that below with your question #4

Since it is an Arcade Fighting Stick they are Digital for instant and accurate input. While on the topic I found out that the SixAxiS and/or DS3 Bluetooth is in absolutely no way a hindrance to accuracy & performance vs a wired connection. The maker himself (Toodles) of the AXISdapter did a comparison between his product and a Cthulhu USB wired board and said a few things about it ~

"both PCB's would see a button press at the exact same, down to the nanosecond. I dont mean nanosecond as an exageration, I mean one billionth of a damn second <Toodles referencing the "tester" he made to capture the inputs for the accuracy comparison>

In short, they were dead on, and it didn't matter if the SIXAXIS was connected via USB or not. <SixAxiS wireless or wired vs the Cthulhu wired board>

In short, both the Cthulhu and Sixaxis are, in my opinion based on these tests, neck and neck.

What I can say for sure is that anyone using a Sixaxis as the core of their board has nothing to fear from latency. I am seriously impressed with Sony that they were able to pull that off; I did not expect it to perform that well at all. I don't know whether to feel sad that my board (referencing his Cthulhu) didn't wipe the floor with the sixaxis, or proud that my board goes toe to toe with Sony engineering!"

Well there are 3 ways of different information to go about this ~

1) If the Pinball Game itself has a rumble feature then perfect, all that would be needed is to address #2. BUT that is just for a PS3 Pinball Game as I am not sure PC Pinball Games have/support Rumble although that could possibly be addressed in #3

2) I don't think it would be a big problem adding bigger more effective rumble motors (or an actuator of some sort) in place of the standard DS3 motors (if possible) to address the issue of how much feedback is actually felt during gameplay. But this would add less play time use because of the extra moving parts IF used wireless-ly

3) I could learn/figure out how to add a specific additional rumble or actuator triggered by just the "flipper" button press itself, thus it would be compatible with ANY game or electronics (PS3/PC). And again as I said earlier this would add less play time use because of the extra moving parts IF used wireless-ly
