Why do you set the MTU to 1500? I used your guide and it worked great. But, I noticed that when I set the MTU to 1500 and ran the test connection at the end, it gave me a slower speed then when set to automatic. Is the slower speed better for the game play? Second, while in DMZ do I still need to use port forwarding numbers for MW2,or does the DMZ mode take care of that. Thanks in advance........Todd

You still need to port forward / directed to your PS3. All info sent on those Ports will only be sent to your PS3 without trying to figure out what device to send it to.

What about the PS3 MTU Setting? The guide stated to change it to 1500, but I noticed that it made a difference in the speed when I tested the connection. Is that supposed to be the end result?

This number varies a bit depending on your router, modem, and your internet provider. Best bet is to start and 1500 and then test it at 1450 and 1550...it is just a matter of trial and error from there to get the number that provides maximum speed. Once you have this number, subtract 5 from it to compensate for any minor slowdowns, and you are set. Also, if you start having connection issues, just lower the number.

The normal MTU (Maximum Transmit Unit) value for most Ethernet networks is 1500 Bytes, or 1492 Bytes for PPPoE connections. For some ISPs you may need to reduce the MTU. But this is rarely required, and should not be done unless you are sure it is necessary for your ISP connection.
