Fixed PS3 Media Server problem!!!

I've posted several threads on this site hoping that someone could help me with a problem that I was having. I have a 20gb PS3 with no wireless capabilities. So as you would imagine, I use the PS3 media server via the Ethernet connection. The problem was that the PS3 wasn't recognizing the media server. After trying for countless hours to make it work I decided just to wipe my computer and start from scratch...no dice. I messed around with network discovery, media sharing with WMP11, ect. But eventually I realized that it wasn't problem with my computer or with the PS3, it was a problem with Vista.

So here's the solution. Vista has a DHCP bug and will not obtain the IP address automatically. This can be fixed by downloading a free tool. Google "Vista DHCP fix" and you'll find the tool. I ran the fix on my ethernet port and it works perfectly. I hope this helps anyone who is stuck with the same problem

That, are you could try TVersity. That's all I use now to stream to my consoles, cause both the 360 and PS3 can pick it up. I prefer to use my PS3, cause I actually have a remote for it. But whatever works for you I guess...
