This is quite easy and works on most PS3's, Firstly Make sure you read EVERYTHING (no noobs).

FIRSTLY FOR ALL THE NOOBS OUT THERE!
MAKE SURE YOUR PS3 CAN PLAY PS2 GAMES
HOW? CHECK THE SERIAL NUMBER AT THE
BOTTOM OF THE CONSOLE, AND FOLLOW
THIS GUIDE HERE AND
DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR PS3 NOT
PLAYING IT!!! READ FIRST!!!

What you need!
1x PS2 playing PS3
1x Final Fantasy XI (NTSC) Game
1x SWAPMAGIC (3.6+ or 3.8)
Internet Connection
e-mail address (not going to ask for them)

I am unsure on the different compatibility, I used a Australian PAL model (CECHC01) that emulates PS2 games, my Firmware is 2.76, Swapmagic 3.6+ and Final Fantasy XI PS2 NTSC (no add-ons, haven't tested them)

Okay here is how to do it!

==GETTING THE HDD TOOLS
#Do this only if you are already a member of PSN
#1. Unregister your PS3 from your account!
2. Make a new user
3. set it up for PSN but select the region for the game (example I have US Final Fantasy XI, so I selected United States)
4. set up as normal
5. After registration log onto PSN and select PSN Store
6. Goto Add-ons
7. Goto Disc add-ons
8. Look for one that has PS2 in the title (PS2 Tools)
9. Download it, then it will automatically install!
10.Sign back into your main account.
11.Put in SWAPMAGIC (use the DVD edition)
12.Once at the main menu (has Load Program and Video mode)
13.Eject the SWAPMAGIC and then put in Final Fantasy XI
14.Wait about 10 seconds
15.Press X
16. Play normally!
