It's also been confirmed on other sites that you can brick your slim if you attempt to do this. So, just because one person did it, doesn't mean that it's necessarily safe to do.
I would personally wait until others confirm it working for the slim. Also, I don't see a point in downgrading, since they have a Jailbreak for 3.55, and the scene is growing on that.
The point of downgrading is that 3.55 jailbreaking really isn't ready yet. Sure, we can mod files and get a few game backups to work, and we can even run most homebrew...but we still don't have easy-to-use backup managers on 3.55, nor do we have any kind of OtherOS, even with a dongle.
Still, I wouldn't do the downgrade right now...there are already numerous reports that it bricks the slim, and it is not even confirmed that this works with all fats. Also, I have yet to see any reports of someone going down to 3.41 and then back to OFW 3.55; so I have some minor concerns there as well.
Yeah, thats why I would never upgrade until everything is working. Especially backups because these slim drives are kinda loud. I was lucky enough just now to get a brand new slim that was still on firmware 3.40 so I can still use backup mangers. I hope someone makes a cfw for 3.41 that patches the lv2 like flukes1 did with the firmware 3.55 so I won't have to use a dongle anymore.
