Well, i know they are out there because I am one of them but there doesnt seem to be that much documentation out there for the linux users on streaming HD mkv files. Everyone knows about the easy mkv2vob out there for the windows users but what about us Linux guys. Well here is a handy script and media server that will take care of all of your linux media server HD needs.

1) Install mediatomb.
Ubuntu/Deb users: in the command line type sudo apt-get install mediatomb
Fedora: in the command line type yum install mediatomb

this will allow you to stream media files to your PS3

2) Save the latest script to a directory of your choice.
http://mediatomb.equateuk.com/scripts/mkv2m2ts/

3)Change perms of script to make it executable.
chmod 777 script_name

NOTES:
There are some dependencies this script requires for it to work. Running the script will tell you what they are.

If you are running a 64bit machine make sure to install these packages as well or else tsmuxer will give you issues:

sudo apt-get install libc-i386
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
