IS it Worth Buying Modern Warfare 2 prestige edition?

i recently saw the unboxing of the modern warefare 2 prestige edtion and i want to know if its the same thing as the collectors edition i reserved at gamestop. since the words collectors edition dont pop up, all he says is the regular edition, hardened edition and the prestige edition.

Whats showing up on the computers for pre-order now would be the hardened edition. As the prestige edition is yet to even have a price put on it.

Those fully functioning night vision goggles are damn tempting but I'm a little apprehensive about what the price is going to be.

seems gamestop now changed the name from collectors edition to hardened. I checked a few gaming sites and they posted the price is 150.00!

150 sounds fairly reasonable; though to my knowledge they haven't released the official price yet.

Checked in at ebgames, for us Canucks its going to be $169.
I asked them if they knew for sure whether we were going to be getting the bundle in Canada or not for sure because they don't always offer the higher bundles and they haven't gotten any indication either way yet. I'm going to send the dev's an email asking about it, because if I preorder it and it turns out its not available in Canada for another month after release I'm going to be pretty pissed.

i cant see the point in buying anything else except the game, because thats all were after isnt it? not flashy bits that add lots of cash to the price. apparently its also going to be the most expensive game to be released too.

For this generation of consoles thus far? Probably. Of all time? Very unlikely. Its a fairly good deal all things considered assuming the nvg's aren't total crap.

i channged the thread title, so heres the question:
will modern warfare 2 prestige edition go down in price in a few weeks after launch? Because i bought Fallout 3 CE for 60$ a few months after, and i remember hearing about how the halo legendary edition went for $60 after a few months.
but then Modern Warfare is still selling for $60 new...
so what im basicly asking is, that is it worth buying at launch for $150, and if not will i still be able to find it 3 months later?

Here in the UK i dont think i've ever seen any of these special edition boxes for the PS3 for any game...we get the metal sleeve but not the extra pack things.
Personally I would buy the hardened edition, but wouldn't pay any extra for NVG's.
What is anyone actually goin to do with them anyway? I can imagine kids wanting them and begging there parents to shell out the extra cash for the prestige edition, but when/why would anyone else actually use/want them?

Thats what I'm worried about atm, because we usually get semi screwed over and have to wait a few extra weeks for these bundles in Canada and I don't want to have to wait the extra weeks with this game. And of course we never know whether its going to take extra time or not until it is released. EBgames is terrible at doing their one and only simple job of insuring the games are there on time.

Playing paintball/airsoft at night; some kind of crazy game of marco polo/hide and seek. I'm very imaginative ;)

I know they dropped in price but iirc not close to that much. Also availability may be a concern as well if you choose to wait.

Il let you know once I get it. I heard it has an option of green or black and white night vision.
I put $25 pre order down 3 months ago and been going to gamestop and putting in $25 towards it a lil at a time. Now I only have to pay $25 when I go pick it up on the 10th.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

I unfortunately do not have the option to pre oder it here, the store is only going to get X on release day and its first come first serve. And I doubt I'll get a chance after that day, so I need to find it beforehand.

It's not worth it at all in my opinion. The goggles would be cool for like a week, and then you would regret spending the extra $90. I just got the regular edition, I'd rather not pay extra for art books and what not.

Yeah I'd have to agree, especially considering the cost difference between the regular and hardened version. And I just found that same vid last night actually, it looks like its made by the same people that makes the eyeclops that walmart sells. I don't think I got the money to pay that much on a gamble right now, I'll just get the regular edition.

Has anyone seen the film Step Brothers with Will Ferrell and Joh C Reilly?
The night vision goggles scene it that film is enough to make me not want them...
Also, it's a really funny film, anyone who hasn't seen it should.

IF they are any good, then $150 is a great price for a new set of NVG...that is about the same price as used russian NVG. I have my doubts that they are very good (I saw inside a set on youtube, and the circuitry isn't even waterproofed), but if they are, then I think a lot of hunters who do not own a PS3 or 360 will be buying the prestige edition.
