Hello ive heard from people that it is possible to mod and burn games for the Playstation 3 is this even possible does anyone know for sure?? I heard that it is possible to either burn the games to the system Playstation 3 itself, and or to the computer? Ive also herd both you do need blueray disks for it to work, and you dont depending on the way you copy these games. Is there anyone out there that knows for sure?? thats what id like to know.

I really dont mean to be rude,but why didn't you look at the stickies or use the search button.
The PS3 cannot play PS3 backups.
Backward compatible PS3's can play PS2 backups,via the Swap Magic method.
60GB PS3's can play PS1/2 backups via switch method,though really not recommended.

Im not sure lol Im askin about copying actual ps3 titles, and not copying ps2 or ps1 games to play on the ps3. i basically stumbled on this site ect. i know of the 360 mod i was wonderin if you could do actual modded copied games for the ps3 unlike the 360. have a good day.

You cannot play copied or modded PS3 games on the PS3.

oh well thats cool it woulda been able to make a copy of drake, Metal gear solid 4, and or infamous, even Reisitance fall of man 1 and or 2! These games are all good games i like. The other game obviously is Final Fantasy 13 cant wait for that game. I herd though it will be on both the ps3 and 360 however. Id just imagine it be better on the ps3! I have a ps3 i like it alot cant wait for drake uncharted 2 to come out. I herd there was a beta dowload for it to play online parts of it earlier. Have a good day.

The reason is that sony put much more effort in making the system unhackable than the 360. Also if you look at how microsoft deals with hacked systems once they are found out that kind of also hints that they may have made them easily hackable to sell more systems, because it just bans the system from xbox live and not the user. Just a theory of course but its logical to me.

Microsoft didnt bother protecting the DVD drive with their Hypervisor,so it was easily circumvented,whereas the PS3's Hypervisor protects everything and it protects very well.

I think that is a typo, you mean the 40gb PS3's cause the 60gb is the Backward compatible PS3, swap magic method as you said

The 60gb can play via swap magic ps2 backup's, whats the reason of switch method? Switch method is for ps3 backups or not for some regions?

What is the Hypervisor? Is that soft or hardware?
