just got ps3Break 1.1 . Now what to do!!

I've just got a ps3Break 1.1 and i'm hoping for a little advice before taking the plunge. First my ps3 is a fat model firmware is at 3.15, 60gb. I know I have to upgrade the firmware to 3.41. Do I have to do anything with music,movies and pictures i already have on the hard drive before the upgrade? After that's done do I apply a firmware to the ps3Break1.1, or is it already on it. I think I can follow once these concerns are addressed Thanks to all for any help!!
