Why have I added an Xbox item to the ps3 thread you ask?
Well if the guys who are trying to get linux back onto the ps3 succeed, then I am guessing it will be a simple matter of just installing the drivers to get the kinect to work on the ps3.
This is all excited speculation, but if cfw is ever made for the ps3 and you can run gameos linked with otheros perhaps the kinect can be used in some games as well? If not then in homebrew apps.
I read some about this, I was kind of wondering what all they may be able to do getting the kinect to work with different machines. I guess just some homebrew apps would be cool using it.
Well to use it in games would be pretty difficult considering the amount of work it would require.
As 3.15 consoles still have otheros, it may be possible to get it working on there, there a video of a guy using it on a laptop with ubuntu to move photos and enlarge then using the multipoint feature.
All of this is just guessing what could happen. But it also shows how much better the hackers are on the xbox scene though hacking the kinect had a $3000 prize along with it set by an open source company. Well the ps3 scene is still in its early days i suppose.

The guy that created the open source drives, has nothing to do with the Xbox Scene, he doesn't even own an Xbox 360, he is more of a PS3 Dev, his name is marcan and he is the creator of AsbestOS, the open Source Linux loader for the PS3 :)
