I am converting my entire DVD & Blu-ray library on to a 8TB NAS. I've had great success converting my entire 500 CD collection last year to digital, and storing my CD's in the attic. I'd like to get the same done for my 300+ DVD collection and my medicore 50+ Blu-Ray collection. I have most of my DVDs done already, into their native folder structure, and I have been pluggin away at the blu-rays in the same manner.
I've downloaded XBMC for my main computer and everything looks great, streams great, and sounds great on my PC from the NAS. However, I would like to keep from having to build an HTPC for my Home Theater, as I already own a PS3, and a XBox360.
I've installed My Movies, which is supposed to allow you to stream movies to your XBox360, but there are a lot of hoops you have to jump to get it to work correctly. Plus I've heard that you need to recode your movies in compressed format, or else there are some issues with playback.
So I'd like to try something on the PS3 instead. I've set up PS3mediacenter on a computer, and have done a test run on an MKV that I converted over, and it streamed great. However.... The media browser on the PS3 just plain sucks nuts. Honestly... file folders? No slick interface? Is there anything XBMC like for PS3? Is there a hidden setting somewhere that turns our PS3 into a real media center? Or am I dreaming?
Would love to use my PS3 as a media center, but unless theres something that would make it look like the following image, then I'm going to need to find another alternative.

Hi sc0rch3d,
Did you get any joy with a decent substitute for the mediocre PS3 media browser ?
I'm having the same problem and am sorely tempted to opt for a WDTV Live.
At least it would mean not having to re-code all your movies.
