I guess there are just different tutorials for the different jailbreak devices. This is just one at www.ps3yes.com they provide all the info on how to use their device. Its really straight forward.
I think you could burn them to bluray, im not real sure, but the main idea is to backup your copies to a harddrive and never have to deal with optical media. This is easier, cheaper, and faster, Im not real sure why you would want to take that route, although Im sure some folks may prefer it.
The basics are that you need firmware 3.41 or under, unless you pay a price for the downgrade (Hopefully not for long). You need a jailbreak device flashed with the appropriate hex, a usb drive with the files you want to install, and the whole process takes about 30 seconds after getting what you need together.
