Crap, I was trying to upload hermes v4 to my psjailbreak2.
The website said it could load any psgroove hex, so i tried the new hermes one using the websites upgrader. the loader said it installed it fine, but now when I turn on the PS3 and press the eject button, the led light doesn't pop up and it no longer works.
Also, when I put it back into my PC the upgrader says it can't find the device when it used to be able to. Is there anything I can do to get this to work. Maybe by using that flix (I forgot the name of it) application for the teensy boards? I'd really like to get PSGroove working again. Thanks for the help, if you can.
EDIT: It may be windows that is blocking it. when I plug it in, it says that windows has stopped the usb drive because it cannot recognize it. is there a way to tell windows to allow the usb to run?
this is what I get. this is what windows says when i go into the menu.
This is with windows allowing all device drivers as well.
WEll first of all I am guessing you got a psjailbreak2 because it had teh 2 written after it. This is not an updated dongle, it isnt even made by the original psjailbreak team, you can tell due to the huge price difference.
First of all are you using windows 7, is it 32bit or 64 bit version?
As for using FLIP to install the hex you first need to know which Atmega32 chip version is installed in the dongle, this will mean opening it up and seeing if anything is written on the chip.
Also if the dongle is upgradable you might not be using their updater properly.

I got the dongle free when i bought a PS3 from a local shop around my parts. tried to update the .hex, but didn't realize what board was inside.
I took it back to the dude, said it was broken, and got another one free. (well spending money on a PS3 isn't free, haha). anyway, now i updated using the hex from their site and it all works perfectly again.
