New Slim with V3.0 won't play uncharted drakes fortune

I got a new ps3 slim on tuesday and the first game i tried was drakes fortune. I played for 5 minutes and the game froze, so i removed the disc cleaned it and put it back in the ps3.
Still no joy, the game plays for a couple of minutes and the ps3 just freezes. All my other games work fine, was just wondering how to sort this if i can and if anyone else has had similar problems.

Is the disc scratched at all? That seems like the most likely explanation.

There seems to be quite a few bugs with the new firmware, games freezing, controll pads not working etc, you could wait untill an update fix, or you could return your console for a replacement.

There is a flaw in 3.0 that messes with drakes, CODMW and two other games. I'm sure Sony will patch it soon. It is not a defect in your PS3.

Yeah i did'nt think it was my PS3 as i bought about 8 games with it and there all playing fine apart from that one. The disc is in mint condition also so it's not that. Must be the new 3.0 firmware, hopefully there will be an update to sort this. Kind of suck though as i really wanted to get torn into this game as i've got an xbox 360 and always been jelous of the PS3 exclusives so i bought all the good ones to play (metal gear, infamous, uncharted etc). Thanks for your input though, much appreciated.

Yep, the bluray disk have a HardCoat. They are somewhat hard to scratch. If you are new to Playstation, I have to suggest Ratchet and Clank. One came out after 2 years ago and a new one is comming out in a few weeks. R&C is my favorite and im 40. This is the third small bug created by a firmware update. Sony has been quick to fix all of them.
edit: R&C comes out at the end of next month. No wonder Gamestop looked at me weard yesterday when I pre ordered it.

What's the issue with Modern Warfare? It's been the only game I've played since the update, and I haven't had any issues.

i have an old ps3 with latest firmware its a 40 gig i havent tried it yet but would it affect drakes on that system or the newer slim one
