I just finished replacing my bluray laser assembly. Everything seems to be working fine now. I first plugged the PS3 into an HD Monitor after I replaced the laser assembly to try it out and it worked great so I turned it off and plugged it into my 52" HDTV and I used the same HDMI cable too but my TV just keeps saying "No Signal" like there is nothing connected. I tried every different type of connection scenario and still nothing. I even went as far as disconnecting the cable box and DVD player and just connecting the HDMI cable from the PS3 to the HDTV and still nothing. I than just stuck a game in the PS3 and after about 1 minute it started to work. The game needed updates so I said OK to the updates and when I hit OK the screen went black again and said "No Signal" I let it sit like that for a while and it suddenly came back on and said update completed. So now I can only get the system to work if I have a game in the drive. As long as a game or DVD is in the drive everything works fine but as soon as I remove the game/DVD I get the "No Signal" shit again. This is just about the wierdest thing I've ever seen. Has any one else had this problem before or have any Ideas what could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Turn off the system. Now go over to it, and hold the power symbol until it beeps three times. Now you can setup your video to 720P only.
I tried that about five times and didn't have any luck. The PS3 also came with a AVI cable. The one that has one connector that plugs into the PS3 and it splits off into the three colored wires (red, white, yellow) I thought it was to connect to the TV instead of connecting with the HDMI cable. Well I tried that and it did the same thing. (No Signal) The thing is, I had this PS3 connected to this TV before and it never had this problem before. At this point I'm just glad it works. I guess I can deal with keeping a disc in the PS3. It never did this before I replaced the bluray laser assembly. I'm using the same HDTV and the same setup I used to have connected before I replaced the bluray laser assembly.
Well, Not like it matters to anyone else here but I was finally able to solve this issue. It seems that there are a few HDTVs out there that this same problem happens to "Sony Bravia" being one of them and "Sanyo VIZON" (mine) another one. The solution is to unplug everything, the TV, PS3, and anything else you may have hooked up to you system. Leave it unplugged for at least 15 minutes and than plug it all back in and it should work. I found this solution in the Playstation.com forum. I was pretty shocked to see that it worked. I guess it has something to do with the HDTV settings and how the TV manufactures didn't include any settings for the consumer to change. It must all be automagic and they just forgot to tell us about it. Anyway, Thanks KillerBug. You were the only one who even tried to help me out with this and I appreciate it.
