TThis has worked for me on all three games I've ripped. I've never been able to play music stored on my hdd during game play before. Didn't see it mentioned so don't know how many people knew..

And which games were those? It could very well be that those games just have software support for custom music tracks.

I will give this a try with an old game that I have and will see if this is true for myself.

I tried it and I have to say that this is not true. I played NBA 2k8 first, tired to play music while in game and got the error message "Music content cannot be played during the use of this game." After that I backuped up NBA 2k8 to my internal hard drive and replaced the disc with god of war 3 and booted up and tried again and got the same error. So I just think your playing game that have support for custom tracks. What games did you try?

Im sure if you use PS3 SFO editor you can enable music playback. Just like how some dude enabled remote play on Infamous.

PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Wow...now that is a great feature...there isn't much stock in-game music that is worth listening to.

The three games that you mention already supports in game music when playing in offline mode (I think you can play online with chat off but not sure). So I would have to say that this is not true, unless someone can actually confirm that they tried a game that is known not to have that ability.
