phat ps3 no blu ray drive

hey guys

i picked up a 60gb phat ps3 yesterday, the bloke told me it had ylod.
when i got it home and opened it there was no blu ray drive,

anyway i managed to fix the ylod, and thinking of keeping it for the bedroom.

is it worth installing a custom firmware, can i do much with it now that it has no blu ray drive?

its on version 3.40

yeah it is. because then if you have an external hard drive you can store games onto it.

Yeah but the thing is a lot of games require a disc to be in the drive, so that would be a problem. I'm not sure exactly how much or which games but thats just my 2 cents.
