this may save some ps3 users some grief in the future, and i only discovered this recently cos like many others i believed the rubbish on many forums saying that a full system backup saves everything.

many here will be unaware of this fact until their expensive weak ps3 dies on them, but the fact is thus---

user playlists and copy protected game saves CANNOT BE MOVED to another ps3 when the host ps3 dies, this is undisputed fact and sony themselves have confirmed this to me.even a full system backup does not do it, and unlike some on this forum i have actually tried this, 5 hours of my life ill never get back.

i wish i had known this before i spent countless hours lovingly crafting personal playlists on my old ps3, and anybody out there right now investing hours and hours constructing playlists is wasting their time cos when their ps3 breaks they WILL LOSE ALL THEIR WORK, and some game saves.

complain to sony and ask them to rectify this in a future system update, they wont unless enough users complain.

and dont think your ps3 will last for ever, its a weak piece of kit with many hidden flaws, and blueray drives are failing just outside warranty all over the place.

the blueray drive is flawed and can become useless for many reasons, from system updates to motor or lens or system board failure.

out of the 5 people i know with just out of warranty ps3s, 4 have non functioning blueray drives, inc me, and my ps3 was perfectly looked after.

sony are aware of this and must be made to extend the warranty period, as microsoft did.

this gen of consoles are weak and built to a price in china, they have many faults and its just a matter of time until yours becomes kaput.
no ps3 owner on the planet will be playing their current ps3 in say 5 years time, most likely no where near that long, possibly maybe only 2 or 3 years, maybe even less, like mine, only lasted 18 months, my mates only 17 months, another only 2 years.all with failed bluray drives.

forget the 360 rrod, when your more expensive ps3 goes belly up, sony will want to shaft you with a hefty fee, or you will have a big repair job on your hands, and after shelling out on an expensive replacement bluray unit, you may still be left with a ps3 that wont read discs (sony is loving this, its opened up a whole new revenue stream cos many poor users will just buy another ps3 or pay sony to fix a fault that they built in).

sony, you are foul tossers.stop treating users with contempt and bring this console up to spec, and stop putting in measures that are designed solely to frustrate users, ie, not allowing vital stuff to be backed up.
