Hi,
does anyone know of anyone or company in the UK that mods
controllers?
I am after a black xbox 360 controller, modded with a DS3 inside
to use with a PS3:

If anyone knows of this please reply,
thank you.

Thank you for the reply,
i am after a 360 pad stripped out and
the guts of a DS3 modded inside the 360 pad.
The 3rd party controller you linked would be ok for
for general games, but not fps.
I brought this controller and it's even bluetooth:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gioteck-HF1-Bluetooth-PS3-Controller/dp/B004AYE3W8

But for fps, there is to many deadzones in the analog sticks,
what i'm looking for is a site or person that does
such mods and obviously charges a premium for such work.
I've googled for ages but haven't found anyone,
i've found people that mod but don't sell unless it's for
obscene money.

The money really isn't obscene when you figure that they have to spend a lot of time doing a job that most people can't do, plus they have to destroy a pair of controllers...and they are not cheap controllers.

Is it just that you want something custom? If not, then you could get an adapter for less than the price of the donor sixaxis:

I appreciate it's a lot of hard work, the link below is a "how to" guide,
and if i had the time and patients to do it would:

http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/01/how-to-make-a-ps360-controller/

The reason i want one of these is because i can not stand the DS3 controller,
it is too small, the analogs are way too close, in my eyes, the Xbox 360
pad is the best for almost all games, especially FPS.
And that is what i mainly would like one for.
I would provide both controllers if someone knew how/could build one.

Be careful with that guide; it uses the old first-release sixaxis. They are the only ones that used the same kind of stick as the 360 uses; later versions of the sixaxis (and all DS3s) use hall effect sensors; they are radically different. There are also a lot of other little changes, but that one is a really big deal when it comes to modding the controller to use 360 sticks. Just finding one of these first release sixaxis controllers is very difficult these days.

Thanks for the info, i don't plan on using the guide to
build my own, but was showing what i am looking for.
I am surprised that no one has decided to mod like this
full time or to sell, as i imagine there are quite a few
people that would be interested in purchasing such a
controller.

I could only assume that no one is doing this is because it's more trouble than it's worth and I can only assume that the market for a "modded" controller would be limited.

...There are numerous controllers that are pre-built just like this, and there are adapters too. Like most aftermarket controllers, the analog sticks usually suck. If I honestly thought that I could sell one of these modded controllers for the ~$200 that the parts plus my time are worth, I would...but I don't think that I could get away with charging so much when someone could just connect the controller that they already have to a $35 adapter.

Yeah, i agree it would be too expensive and time consuming,
i was just putting the question out there, in the hope
someone would be doing this.
Thank you all for your replies, i think i will trim my fingertips
down a bit to use the DS3 pad better :-)
