I think it is possible to swap use a different Blu-ray board (along with blu=ray) ask long as the PS3 motherboard serial numbers match.

Sony would have a list of which parts are interchangable and which arn't but i guess if someones got enough money and time they should be able to make their own list.don't think sony would make that list public
