Hey guys im going to put the cfw into my ps3 and but the problem is that i only have 8gb usb drive for the games. However, i do have an ethernet cable(cat5) hooked up to my ps3 connected with my router. Also, my PC connected with my router so what i was wondering, if i can use that method of transferring my games through the cable and my router or would it be even be possible? If so, can someone give me a guide on how to do so please it would really help out alot.
Notes
*Remember i dont have a large HDD to put games on*
*Im looking for an alternative way to get what i want and not to go out of my way to buy anything extra*
I'll assume you are doing all this because your PS3BD drive is not working, so you must rip with PC. If you make me think any different, I will stop responding and report you to the moderators...
You can transfer games by FTP...over network cable. It also works by wifi, but it works poorly. Gigabit wires will make a difference in transfer speeds. You cannot just play the game from a network share; you have to actually transfer them to the PS3 hard drive. There is a possible route to using a linux PC as a simulated USB hard drive, but I doubt you will want to attempt that.
I would recommend getting a larger HDD for the PS3...they are not expensive these days...a little 500GB would probably be more than you will ever need.
