Hi, my PS3 multi AV output seems to be knackered (flickers then goes black, then comes back then goes black again. I have tried multiple cables, s-video and composite - same thing every time.)
I'm assuming my HDMI output is working but I have no hdmi TV to try it out on. My projector has a component input which I would like to use.

What I want to know is is there a cheap way to convert the HDMI output to component so I can use it on my projector?

Any ideas as to how to solve the problem at the top of the message would also be greatly welcomed.
Many thanks

The HD Fury 2 would do it...but it is $170 plus cables.

The HD Fury 1 might be able to do it, but would require more cables assuming it was capable.

I know these are not cheap solutions.

EDIT:
i just realised that i have a VGA input, not component.. but I assume that that doesn't really change my question much?

Also, my projector has a native resolution of 800x600 and a max of 1024x768. Would I have to set my ps3 to only display at 576p to get the best picture or just leave it to output everything upto 1080p?
