I kind of confused with so many different versions of the jailbreak and psgroove out there. But if I were to jailbreak my ps3, I would definitely want the jailbreak/psgroove version to be upgradeable. And most of them say that they are, but then I read that they have complications with upgrades.
Does anyone have a good clean cut solution to applying jailbreak or psgroove? Get a board and program it, or just buy a preloaded, them seem the same price anyway?
I was just curious to what methods worked out best for the people who have actually done this?
Don't mean to be rude, but there are at least 500 topics covering this on the internet google is your friend :)
But I'll give you a quick answer, buy a development board I have a Maximus AVR usb key, and it is awesome, as for updating all dev boards can be updated, its just a case of writing a .hex file for the board, if you don't know how to do that buy a common dev board used at90usb, maximus avr usb, minimus usbkey etc, I personally would go with the Maximus my freinds a Dev and he loves it so its gotta be good.

I just got mine from Lightake.com , works as promised .
Ordered mine last week from here, says 3-7 day delivery so im hoping mine arrives tomorrow or on monday. Getting a little impatient here, was hoping for a psp port but when they said no.
Also anyone figures out how to do a hard upgrade the ps3yes? Ive looked around on google but so far noone has and ps3yes havent added any info on the site on doing it.
So the hard upgrade would be if you wanted to change from the ps3yes firmware to the psgroove firmware? It should automatically update with new ps3yes software as it comes out, if it does come out?
The ps3yes does look like a good option being already set up for you and is updateable to just about anything if im reading everything correctly.
Well looks like ps3yes is already using psgroove, but they modify it.
psgroove now allows you to remove the dongle after running exploit, whilst ps3yes still claim you have to always have it in. So seems like they have re-enabled that.
And no the dongels dont automatically shcek for new version you have to find out, download and install yourself. And as you can see http://ps3yes.com/English/ they have already updated a beta version of the hermes patch.
As for lightake.com the delivery time is "typical", looks like I may actually be waiting another 2 weeks to get my dongles :(
