Hi guys,
Just looking for some opinions/advice on this matter. When I stream 1080p .mkv files using ps3 media server the video stutters. I even change the buffer size to 600 (which is the max allowed) and pause the movie at the beginning to let the buffer fill up 100% and after playing it for a bit (maybe about 15-20) buffer goes to 0% and it starts to stutter. Even tried to change the video quality in ps3ms to something lower along with changing audio to 2 channel. I was thinking maybe my pc isn't powerful enough (p4 3ghz 800mhz fsb 2gb RAM) but, the thing is when I force PS3ms to have subtitles off it streams flawlessly without even filling up the buffer. I wouldn't mind watching without subs but it kinda sucks when you're watching a something that has foreign language in parts of it and you need the subs. also, with .mkv files when you check the ps3ms subtitle setting it says "no subtitles available...." but clearly it has subs. Haven't tested with 720p video files yet this is gonna be my next step. Forgot to mention, both my pc and ps3 are wired into the router.
