I thought that the phot gallery was a novel idea when it was recently introduced. I finally got around to organizing family photos from 2000. I put them all in folders for each year, and in sub-folders so I know what they are pictures of. Back in the early years, I had a cheap digital camera that probably didn't tag the picture properly with a date. But I also scanned in a lot of older pictures a few years back that I had taken with a 35mm camera.

I opened up Tversity, because I don't have a FAT32 drive available to transfer via USB. Picked up the media server from the PS3. I selected the folder named 2005 and tried to transfer. It didn't work (no image files found). I selected a subfolder and tried to transfer. It didn't work (no image files found). I opened each subfolder and let the pictures populate. Then I backed out and selected the subfolder again. I was able to transfer successfully this time. When I went to the photo gallery to see how it worked, it threw some pictures in a folder that it named 2009, and some in a folder named 2005 (note that they all should have 2005).

I'm trying to figure out how to easily transfer photos without the PS3 trying to organize them for me. It seems like this is the same stupid problem that is present with music files. The PS3 has its own way of organizing. Maybe some like it, but their methods seem bassackwards to me. Very counter-intuitive. Would this be easier if I just got my hands on a FAT32 USB drive? Is it a Tversity issue?
