PS3 replacement lens reads everything but BD-Rs

I have an issue hoping someone can help me out. I have a PS3 40GB that did not read any discs. The disc would not spin up. I bought a KES-400a replacement lense and swapped it out. The PS3 now can read and play BD-games and original Blu-ray movies. However it does not detect BD-R/BD-RE at all. The disc logo spins up and then stops when a BD-r/re is inserted. I updated the firmware to 3.15, formatted the hard drive, did a system restore to default settings, did a recovery console file restore with no luck. The BD-R works fine in two other PS3s (80GB and 120GB slim). Am i missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
