PS3 Saved Game Loading Issues

So first off all of my saved game data, trophies, friends list, login info was deleted for some reason in the great PSN Crash of Feb 2010. I was pretty pissed about this but not really pissed until this happened....

I bought the GOW Collection (I've never played GOW, yeah I'm a douchebag I know) and I was all excited to get through I and II in anticipation of the third game. So I'm playing the game I get to about the part where Kratos starts to be able to swim and I save the game. I come back to try and play yesterday and it gets to the black screen where it says LOADING..... and just doesn't do anything.

The PS3 doesn't freeze because I can quit the game. I can also start a new game with no problem. I just can't load from the part that I was just at. Its very frustrating.

This, combined with the recent PSN events have me starting to think maybe I should trade in my 60GB towards a slim...

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated...thanks.

If you don't play PS2 games, and you can get someone to do an even trade (you probably can), then you might as well trade anyway.

Not sure why the gamesave is not working, but it might be an early indication of a memory or heat issue. Then again, the HDD might just need a reformat.
