After playing my ps3 I went to quit the game and shut it down.
While doing so the sysytem went blank and locked up.
So I shut it down with the power switch.
The next time I went to play a game the disc icon doesnt come up.
When I put the disc in the blue and green lights come on but nothing happens?
Could this be a software problem since it I didnt shut it down properly?
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Mine stopped reading discs also. Mine does something weird. I have taken the unit apart to see what is going on. The blue laser still works, but it will not load a bluray at all. It will load cds, dvds, and ps1/ps2 games, but not a ps3 game or bluray. Anyone know the culprit to that?
ooZERooo, I had several PS3 that could read disks excepted BR and that was because the blue beam part was dead as the diode for PS3 40Go is a triple beam diode, so one can be dead and the others work !
