yesterday by ps3 would not start and for some unknown reason i just flipped the ps3 upside down slowing breathed into the vent right underneath the on button making some condensation, and it worked lol. I have to do this every time to make the ps3 switch on, im confused why it helps, anyone know a permanant solution?
just to clarify, the switch at the back works and supplys power like it should. The touch sensitive buttons at the front do not work, also booting from controller does work, unless i blow through the vent underneath the touch button. Because the controller doesnt boot aswell maybe they aint nuthing wrong with the button and its a internal problem.. i dont know
"also booting from controller does work"
-I assume you meant to say, "does not work"?
If so, it is doubtful that replacing the switch will help. All I can think is that there is some bad contact in there. Does the system keep running after this, or does it stop running after the condensation evaporates?
i've just got an 80gb with a none turn on issue, the only way to turn it on is by inserting a disc into the drive, turns on ok then, and stays on, but as the eject button on the front also dosn't operate, i can't get the disc back out unless i dismantle the PS3, some messing aboutwith it will be done sometime soon
