Replaced PS3 laser now disk do not insert corectlly

So I bought this 40 GB PS3 a little while ago and it didnt read disks.The replacement laser finally came in today and I switched them out,but now at times the disks wont go in all the way or theyll struggle to insert.When they are inserted propretly the PS3 reads them,but any help on whats causing them to insert incorrectly?Thanks
