if youre gonna buy one you should wait and get the slim 120gb model but if you can get the 40gb for cheap then get it. I would say yes to getting one. There are going to be some really amazing exclusives coming out for it real soon like God of war 3, Final Fantasy versus XIII, heavy rain, MAG, and Uncharted 2 not to mention the great games already out like Little big Planet, Killzone 2, infamous, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank Series, Resistance 1 and 2, and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. The ps3 is also a blu-ray movie player so you'll have your HD movie media player out of the way as well. There are, however, downsides to getting the PS3... namely the xbox exclusives like Gears of war, Left 4 Dead, and Fable series. Also, even though Playstation Network is free for online gaming XBOX 360's is a little more superior but costs $50 a year. So, basically, if you are looking for a new system get the PS3. Very rarely will it be faulty in the newer models and you get some pretty epic exclusives as well as a blu-ray player. And please dont think im a fanboy, i just seem to use my PS3 more for gaming. I use my 360 for Netflix mostly ha ha.
thank you but what i wanted to is about ylod because i live in world most sucking country pakistan this is the reason my 360 died because of loadshading no light will this cause any problem to my ps3
well i've had my ps3 for almost 3 years and I've never had a YLOD. You should look up the fail percentages for both systems. I think the 360 has a 54% fail based on statistical data.
I bought a 60G launch PS3 and got ylod after 3 years - phoned Sony & they replaced it free of charge delivered to my door! PS3 much better than xbox360 & Sony's customer service in a different league to Microsoft. I had a 360 for a year & traded it in for a second PS3 for the kids - best move I ever made! But yes wait for the 120G slim - not long now!!
GAMEINFORMER magazine just put out an article in their recent issues discussing the failure rating for all three systems (wii, PS3, and 360). The wii won with a failure rating of 6.8% PS3 got second with 10.6% and the 360 had a whopping 54.2% failure rating. Now that's just plain silly. The article is called "EPIC FAIL" and can be found in issue 197 (september 2009) of GAMEINFORMER.
