So i just backed up my copy of Resident Evil 5 with backup manager and had it installed to my internal hd. What sucks is that once i boot the game up it makes me do the mandatory install of the game to the hd even though the game has been backed up already to the hd. Does anyone know of a way to bypass this as it sucks to waist double the space of the game when all i need is one install?

No you will still have to install the data. It will work fine but your backup is an emulated disc so the ps3 will treat it as a disc
