Sony have not won anything yet, the real trial has not started. It doesnt matter what happens sony really lose in the end.
1) Sony lose, we have the right to do whatever we want with the thing we bought with our money like we should.
2) Sony win, keys already out, consoles already hacked, and even if they manage to secure the console people will not buy, and demand a refund for their console cos they now no longer own their console and so overpaid for it, people will use the excuse that sony forces people to agree to their eula in order to use the console.

You honestly believe that people will stop buying the PS3s just because you can no longer hack it?!You actually think people buy electronic devices solely based on its hack-ability?

how many guys on this forum have put off buying the ps3 because they where waiting for it to be hacked,i myself bought it when it was a bizzilion dollars,a 60gig launch model way back when,if i wasnt a big playstation fan,i would have waited to,,im not a pirate,i just want to back my games that i own to my harddrive and save my laser,is that hard to ask of sony to do,microshit did it,you backup your games to the harddrive and you use the original disc to launch it,done,if they did that i would have no need to hack my system,,

What are you guys all worried about? So what sony got the restraining order? The code is out there and no firmware will fix whats been done. How long did it take for yesterdays firmware to be hacked?
Relax. Unless sony is planning on suing every site that teaches how to hack the PS3 and provides the tools to do so then start worrying. All sony can do now to fix this is by releasing a new hardware and we all know they are not going to do that.

This looks bad, but it was expected, and if he actually did have anything illegal on his systems, it is long gone by now...without violating the order. The good news is that sony has decided to drop all the little BS charges that they didn't even think would work, and now they are focusing on the DMCA charges because they know that the DMCA makes virtually everything illegal.
This could actually be good news...Sony is using a part of the DMCA that won't hold water due to being extremely vague to the point that the judge has probably violated that part of the DMCA...this case could virtually destroy the DMCA.
Of course, that all depends on the judge...Sony has deep pockets, and Californian Judges didn't get a pay raise this year.

I did the same thing. I bought the 60gb launch model as well becuase I WAS a big playstation fan. I honestly do not like their online or first person shooters, besides the exclusive titles. The online play is what turned me away. I'd rather pay $60 a year for great service.
The only games I own are exclusive titles. If it's on 360 and the PS3, I go 360.

I would have bought a launch unit, but I refused to wait in line overnight...and I was short on cash at the time anyway. Still, my 40GB was bought years before jailbreaking existed. Why? Because I was a huge PS2 fan...I went through 5 of them, often replacing the lasers 4-8 times before the emotion engine bit the dust. And before that, I was a huge PS1 fan...I killed 4 of those. Guess what...I'm not buying a PS4...not unless it is for the purpose of modding or hacking it (I will probably buy one once sony starts making a profit; in order to design a fan controller to save systems from the fan-slowing firmware updates that they will release in an attempt to make more money from console sales). I have spent way too much money on buying these consoles and the games that all have a $20 markup just because they run on my system. When I start to see new titles that I can't get on the PS3, I will just go back to PC gaming.
