I'm still holding back on updating my firmware as well as applying the jailbreak. With the new titles requiring a firmware update, it seems to have hit a block. I'm perfectly ok with no psn, but what is everyone's thoughts on if a workaround will be figured out? Most places seen to be about half and half, where half thinks it is stuck here, and half thinks advancements or custom firmware will emerge. I was just wondering everyone's thoughts here? Will a solution emerge within four to six months?
i would update to 3.41 firmware and enjoy the psjailbreak,,there is enough games right now that work with this hack that you dont need to worry about the new games,,ill wait,,there will be a fix for this,,
Thats probably what I will end up doing. I surely hope that a fix is developed. So besides this issue, things seem to be coming along very nicely from what vie read.
yea,,if you read a thread called compatibilty list,,there you will see how many games can be played with psjailbreak,,this way you will also save your laser,,
There will be workarounds for individual titles, and we may even get PSN access for a time, but sony will keep fighting...there will continue to be occasional games that won't work until someone cracks them a month after release, and even if we get PSN access back, it will probably be a temporary fix, or something that can result in a bricked system or at least a banned account.
I doubt they'll ban the account due to legal problems (the bought PSN stuff is locked to this account, so if your PS3 breaks you won't be able to use it on any other PS3) but I don't know if Sony can go the Microsoft way and start banning the console.

By that logic, they would not be able to block access to OtherOS users who bought an otherOS compatible unit and PSN games. They could not even block access to JB users, as the courts have ruled jailbreaking legal (only the pre-loaded hack devices that were sold as allowing piracy have been affected by the injunction). Sony does not seem to care about the law unless they feel somehow victimized by their own actions...then they start suing people 100 at a time.
The joke is on them tho...I won't be buying any more PSN games, as it is now impossible. Soon it will be possible to pirate them because that is the only way for people to get the games they already purchased, but it will not be possible for people to buy games...at that point, sony will be forcing people to pirate games.
