Alright - I have the PS3 Break dongle with Driver 'V1.0' stamped on it. I noticed that the latest dongles are shipping with 'V1.1' firmware, so I check the site out: www.ps3break.com and am absolutely baffled with the 'ch-english' (chinese - english) instructions to upgrade my dongle. I'm not even sure if the device can be upgraded.
So peeps:
1 Has anyone upgraded from 1.0 to 1.1?
2 Is it worth it?
3 How'd ya do it? Can you do us a TUT?
It all depends on the chip. If the chip is a thin square one it'll most likely be upgradable, if its a thick long rectangular one most likely it cant.
Most of the popular dongles are upgradable. But there are some cloners who are selling fake clones. Sounds funny putting fake and clone next to each other, but that's what's happened, some cloners riding on the name of another popular clone to bring in customers. Problem is these fake clones are cheaper due to being non-upgradable.
So if you are gonna get a dongle get it from a respectable seller. Or check the cloners' sites for official sellers.
So yes dongles can be updated, but whether or not they will find a way for them to post on 3.50+ is another question.
