i have a x1 turtle beach headset for the 360 and have been told that you can use a usb soundcard to get the voice to work in on line games .so i gave it ago i did get the sound to go but it not all that good sounds as if theres a very bad echo or head in a bucket if it was just one or two gamers it be ok but its all of them . headset ok on 360 and pc so is soundcard so tested ok i set up the ps3 as follows red and white lead in to the adapter on the headset then in to the tv so sound now can be heard from all that is connected to tv then plugged usb soundcard in to ps3 then red lead from headset in to soundcard then start up ps3 and set the setting in sound settings to hdmi as thats way ps3 connected to tv then audio multi out on.then go in to accessory settings then audio setup set input to usb device and output to system default then back up to input and run the test to set up for feedback thats headset setup then start the game up all setting in game ok but the chat and in game voice is still bad any help thanks ps 1st post so if in wrong place bump me on thanks

The only thing I can think of is that the PS3 just does not like that audio device; I use a USB headset with my PS3 without issue; it even autodetected; I never had to go into the settings to enable it for chat.

The headset I use is specifically designed for the PS3 and is made by Logitech.

I ended up just switching to a PX21 by Turtle Beach. I can use it with the 360 and the PS3.

thanks think thats what i will do can you set both 360 and ps3 up at the same time so you dont have to keep pulling things apart thanks

I have my 360 right below my PS3. I use an HDMI for the video and I use the audio cords from the consoles for the head set. When I need to switch I just plug the head set jacks into the audio jacks for whatever console I want to play. I don't have the sound coming out of my tv so no need to plug them in or move the tv. Only takes a few seconds.
