These are the versions i'm wondering about:
1.the 60gb( don't tell me it's discontinued i know a shop where they have 4-5 more left and there not going anywhere)The cool thing it has a slot for memory cards and backwards compatability even thought i do have a ps2. I'm kinda of a game collecter and having the rarest version is kinda cool. But i 'm worried that the old ps3's tend to get the ylod, even thought the ones in the shop have a 12 month warranty. It also doesn't come with the dualshock 3.
2. ps3 40 gb ( i know a shop to get this model too) The only good side is is that it should be cheaper, i'll ask the ,manager.
3.ps3 80gb the sweet thing is that it has a free game and the dualshock 3(this is not the backwards compatible one.
4. ps3 slim the crap thing is that the install other os feature is gone so i don't really want it.

IMO. If you can afford the 60GB (launch PS3) then get that one. Like you said it's like to have the option of being to be able to play PS2 and PS1 games. Having the card readers is nice as well.

60gb or Slim imo.

No the older models are not anymore prone to the ylod than the new ones. However their lasers might not be quite as tough.
