I'm interested in experimenting with the various managers that are available.
Given that, what are my options in regards to the following:
1) Can more than one manager be installed on the PS3 ?
1a) If so, what is the best way to manage loaded games on internal/external HD so both managers can launch them successfully ?
1a) If not, then what is the process of removing one manager cleanly so a different one can be installed ?
Everyone probably have their favorite one, which is considered, overall, to be most flexible & compatible. I'm running open manager V1.17.1 right now but would like to know of my available options
Quote:"The encoder Rogero just provide us with different modified versions of Backup Manager available now, in order to be able to install them along on your PS3. Indeed, previously it was impossible to have multiple managers simultaneously install PS3 games because they have the same ID: LAUN12345. More when we lost to uninstall a data content on the internal HDD as the file manager is deleted (crashed with the new version with the same ID). He therefore alter the ID of each of these managers ...
Where it gets interesting is that the games are always launched from LAUN12345 but data from your backups can be placed on different issues depending on the version with which you make your backup for your tests. So if you want to do your backup in testing a new manager you can do it from that folder (with the ID of the manager), if you uninstall it then you do not delete the installation folder associated with this backup manager and your test set.
Obviously a version that you install Rogero, Laun12345 target folder for your backups, it will overwrite your backup manager installed but not delete anything on your backups. So you can make your backups with this version if you want to keep them on your hard disk indefinitely for the other versions will be created Laun12346 different folders, etc. ... Laun12347 so you will never have the worry of risking your original file. You may now have the original backup manager "V1", two versions of Hermes V2 and V3, "Open Manager 1.0" V4 "and finally the famous 1.13" V5 ".
Thank you for the information to Kenshidono"
I just keep all my games in their own folder; separate from the backup manager files. This allows me to have 3 different managers (open manager, gaia, and multiman). (HDD0/GAMEZ)
As for deleting managers, use the normal way of deleting a PSN game...when it comes to the screen to confirm delete, there will be a size there. If it is over 1GB, then you need to use a FTP app to move your games to another folder before deleting that app. Once all your games are in a dedicated folder, you don't have to worry about this.
