Also, the airport level was unnecessary, but that's like saying any other part of the game was unnecessary. And it was very much integral to the storyline because it helped to establish the mystery: How did Makarov know?

Y'see, the guy you played - Allen - was just another unsuspecting pawn in Shepherd's plan. He was clearly ordered to participate in the spree, and, being the loyal American soldier that he was, he did. And, subsequently, was shot up. He thought he was going to be part of a covert operation. If he'd shot Makarov instead of taking part, he would have saved the player a whole lot of gaming, but he would have also gone against orders.
It wasn't that hard to see why he didn't just shoot him there.

i played it but i didnt fire on any unarmed civilians. i thought there could be a trophy for that...if i play the campaign again(i probably will) im gonna kill the hell outta those Plastation Home citizens

I wonder how and if people are going to compare this to the "genocide" of GTA.
There's much to be learned either way. If nothing happens, you can see just how stupid the GTA naysayers are. If there's a stink thrown up, you can see just how stupid the GTA naysayers are.

Haha playstation home citizens.
After I finished the game I was looking foward to mile high club 2 or some sort of time trial but I guess thats what spec ops mode is for.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

I played the level. I just shot windows, elevator cable, etc... I did shoot one of the bad guys but that does not work out too well.

ah ok. hey was anyone else expecting a MW2 rap? i thought they would have another song in the credits like in Cod4 but no...i liked rap in MW1 it was funny

The music definitely played much more of a role in this game than in the first - it made it feel much more like a movie than a game, be that good or bad. Or maybe I should say that it made the game movie-esque.
I wonder why they didn't put the Eminem song from the trailers in there, though. Seemed like a good fit.

I hate CoD: MW2. I loved CoD4: MW, but I hate the new one. I'm so anti-conformist, and I hate everything that many people like. *Sarcasm
I like MW2 much more than CoD4, especially in the longevity of the multiplayer. The new weapons, perks, and killstreaks, and the overall mechanics of the multiplayer portion are highly improved. The story is still fantastic (but very short, as usual), and the Special Ops is also very fun to play with a friend, although it took a while to get invited into a lobby. I definitely see myself playing it for a long while, or at least until Bad Company 2 comes out.

why do the brits think that the US has no gun control, even with gun control, criminals can still buy guns on the streets, it doesnt effect them as much as it effects the normal people trying to defend themselves, i also agree that video games dont cause violence, and people that dont like video games have to stop using that excuse, u can deprive a child with no video games, no drugg related or weapon relative subjects, and he is just as likey to snap and kill someone.

can we please not turn this into a political thread? its how threads get closed lets continue the talk of mw2 please. one thing i wanna know has anyone been able to obtain a list of all callsigns ive been lookin for one but cant find one.

i havent even started multiplayer or spec ops yet...i checked them out on my friends ps3 earlier this evening. theres a whole lotta stuff to learn in there.
i was gonna start yesterday but i borrowed uncharted 2 and now i really wanna beat that since its not mine and plus its more laid back...you know people get serious on Modern Warfare and it'll still be there when im done with uncharted anyway tho that multiplayer is very addictive

man you have discipline not playin cod online, but id tell u to start pretty fast so u can unlock everything for ur custom classes so u have the advantage, before the big second wave of ppl that buy the game come online.
